BUSTA RHYMES SIGNS TO YOUNG MONEY...my thougt$

I LOST MAD RESPECT FOR BUSTA!! Signing to Young Money seems like an attempt to stay relevant (I won't state desperate 'cause he's Busta). What did Chris Brown do after he beat the shit out of Riri-Wayne, Fat Joe, Game, DJ Khaled, Nicki singles-Wayne, T-Pains new album-Wayne, even Bow Wow has a song coming out now. I understand the business move-it IS a business-but this man has 20 years releasing records with at least 4 classic ones under his belt. Did I mention he worked with DILLA?!?!?!
Smh. The only plus I see (beside the obvious lucrative one for him, just in time for the tax write offs too!) is the younger generation being introduced to his earlier work. The Drake fans who first heard of him on "Best I Ever Had", the dismissive and shallow minded 19 year old girls with bad taste in R&B who only know Busta for any recent remix, "Touch It" or that song with the Black Eyed Peas guy.

I'm not a YM hater, I just believe this is a sell out move coming from a veteran artist. I'm really not looking forward to his next records but hopefully he'll bring something DIFFERENT to the YM roster, will be treated as a priority on the label and have creative control. I'd hate to see Busta end up like Snoop nowadays. Well...all we can do is hope for some dope music.

Peace. I'm sure 90 out of 100 people think of Nazi germany, Hitler and WWII when they see or think of this symbol but many people are not aware that
this symbol is quite common around the world and has not always been synonymous with hate.

For centuries this symbol had a positive meaning and in many parts of the world and it still does.

In the west in was popular in many designs from the 1800's to the 1920's

In WW1 the American 45th infanty wore the symbol in orange on a shoulder patch.

The swastika is also common in current Hundu architecture and artwork

The swastika is an ancient symbol that dates back as far as 3,000 years ago and possibly further. It has been found on many artifacts including pottery and ancient coins. It has been used by many cultures that include China, Japan, southern Europe, India, Egypt and many more.

The etymology of the word is Sanskrit (Indo-Aryan languadge) meaning svastika - "su" meaning "good," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix. It's also regarded as well being and auspicious.

It carried a positive connotation 'till the mid-nineteenth century when countries around Germany were growing larger, the germans adapted the
symbol because they had knowledge of Aryan/Indian origins, to represent a long Germanic/Aryan history.

What inspired Hitler to use the swastika as a symbol for the NSDAP was its use by the Thule-Gesellschaft since there were many connections between them and the DAP.

It is important to point out that the origins of the Nazi swastika are borrowed from sun crosses derived from sun symbols pictured below

The Nazi's simply varied the direction of the symbol with a 45 degree turn. I won't go further into the history of Nazi use for it since the purpose of this post is to educate how a symbol that originally stood for peace was turned into one of a hate.

It's always important to know the origin of things especially when you can relate to the history whether it's your or some one in your family. ALWAYS question the basis of your beliefs.

Kanye performs new songs for Facebook & Twitter employees

Kanye performed 4 new songs acapella at the Facebook and Twitter heafquarters, most likely to be featured on his new album. 'Ye performed 3 joints for Facebook employees in Palo Alto California. The first verse from "Lost In The World" then "Chain Heavy" and "Mama's Boyfriend".







Then at Twitter headquarters 'Ye performs another verse acapella of an untitled track.



My personal fav. so far: "Mama's Boyfriend". Btw Good Ass Job will no longer be the name of the new album according to Kanye's now official Twitter page.

Why Facebook connecting with EVERYTHING is bad for you.

So I turn on my computer a few minutes ago and my aim says if I don't upgrade to there new 7.3 version I won't be able to use there service, so since I do just that on a daily basis I relunctantly downloaded. It installed in less then 30 seconds but when I was greeted by the new layout all I could see was that aim-like every other site on the web now it seems-is offering me to connect with fb and not just here, every other website i'm linked to as well. I get it, fb is what's most popular now, but shit! I already have hundreds of ppl to talk, listen to and occasionaly ignore when the news feed becomes a plethora of myopic declorations. Why the fuck would I want to add nearly everyone from fb and a dozen more sites just to see what i'm posting on aim (which is nothing) or to give my fb post the tag "via aim"???

Another thing that I caught notice of is that aim now insists you to put your first and last name to use it as your display. If y'all ain't know many jobs do an online search for your social network sites by either your name or the e-mail you provide on your job application. If your first and last name are listed on whatever site your on, they'll easily see it and take notice. That's when posting those pics of you being hung over and blowing smoke in the camera don't seem so bright. Of course if aimless popularity is your contentment all this is great news for you! I only wish you growth and sucess because you will be in dire need of it when you come to realize how detrimental this massive social connection of 2010 is.

Use your head. Don't connect any further with this facebook mosnter lol. It's all in the grand scheme.

You Ain't Know?: Jay Stay Paid

On June 2nd of last year Nature Sounds released the album Jay Stay Paid, a collection of unreleased beats by Mr. Yancey himself, it was EP'd by Ma Dukes and mixed by one of Dilla's favorite producer's Pete Rock. The album is based on a fictitious radio show KJay FM it features guest appearances by Blu, Phat Kat, Black Thought, MF DOOM, Dilla's first cousin Cue D. and more.

Though the album in my opinion was dope and well put together there's some things over the past year that i've discovered and feel I should share with my Dilla heads. The first thing is although the album is under Dilla's name it's not acknowledged in Dilla's "official" discography on the Stones Throw website or Dilla's official site J-Dilla.com. Why??? You tell me, but what I believe is that the album isn't approved by his estate because the majority of the album is compiled from beat tapes and material that's "floating around" the web. Those who know Dilla know that all this floating material has hurt his estate in the recent years and is hard to control. In my EXTENSIVE research and digging for Dilla's disscog, samples, influences I came to discover how and where the material from Jay Stay Paid was pulled from as well as many other posthumous production of the late great used (and jacked) by other artists.

My true Dilla fans know where i'm coming from with this; in '05 4 beat tapes surfaced simply called "Beat CD '05" there was "Beat CD '05 #01", 2, 3 and 4. It's not known who and how these tapes we're leaked but it's obvious that a great deal of the material from these 4 beat tapes have been used in Dilla's production and posthumous work over the last couple years. I won't sit here and list all of them because I find that unecessary but I will list the beats used for Jay Stay Paid as to remain relevant to this blog story. So...here it is!

Perhaps when his estate is in better shape we'll be blessed with alot more material-I pray that number is in the thousand's. But regardless of the exact figure any "new" Dilla will always and forever be a pleasure to listen to.

?uestlove reveals in an interview with AOL's Spinner that he will be collaborating with Amy. "The group is definitely going to happen...it's just that we have to work overtime to get her visa situation together" says ?uest.

In my opinion The Roots are legendary and Amy will have her legendary status bestowed upon her someday so this supergroup will be INCREDIBLE. :)
